Black Girls Hike has partnered with Transport for London and Go Jauntly to present the inspiring Windrush Icons Walk

Saturday May 10th - 10am till 2pm

Europe’s largest outdoor and adventure group for Black women and girls has partnered with Transport for London and Go Jauntly to present the inspiring Windrush Icons Walk.

Date: Saturday 10th May

Start time: 10:00am

Led by BGH founder and award-winning travel and adventure expert Rhiane Fatinikun MBE, alongside the ground-breaking Reggae Hikers, the walk will follow the new Windrush overground train route through South London. Along the way, participants will stop at powerful landmarks and hidden gems that celebrate the rich heritage, resilience, and stories of the Windrush generation.

The walk will conclude with a celebratory wrap-up event at the iconic Black Cultural Archives in Brixton, where experts and community representatives will explore the legacy of Windrush and its lasting influence on London and the wider UK.

This family-friendly event offers a meaningful opportunity to honour the past, reflect on the present, and inspire future generations with the contributions of Caribbean and Black communities to British life and culture.

  • This is a free event
  • Travel on the overground will be free thanks to Transport for London & Go Jauntly
  • Reggae Hiker is Jamaica’s first outdoor hiking community group

Route:
