Hicks’s Hall Gardens, St John Street

St John St, London EC1M 4AY, UK
Created in 2026, the gardens are named for the Middlesex Sessions House, erected here in 1612 and renowned for convicting the regicides of King Charles I. Hicks’s Hall was the southern starting point of the Great North Road, with stagecoaches carrying passengers all the way to Edinburgh. Ivy posts, bee posts, a bee hotel and sandy patches in the ground are designed to provide a variety of pollinator habitats. Monitored by Pollinating London Together
