Hounslow resident and our newly appointed Hounslow Ranger coordinator Mar Peláez Muñoz introduces Hounslow Rangers, London National Park City’s first borough-focused Ranger community.
Like many areas across London, Hounslow is a borough filled with passionate nature lovers, all of whom want to see the place they call home become greener, cleaner, healthier, and wilder.
One of London National Park City’s core missions is to reconnect people with urban nature, and the Hounslow Ranger community will support just this, with the added potency and impact that comes from collective local action.
We foresee that when Rangers provide actions independently but under the umbrella of London National Pack City, the skills, resources, knowhow and expertise can be shared and replicated across London. No need to reinvent the wheel or feel a heavy burden on individual shoulders. Rangers are here to help each other, grow together, combat the disconnect that comes with grappling with ideas in isolation and be there for nature – which needs as many hands on deck as possible.
We hope that Hounslow Rangers – funded by the London Borough of Hounslow’s Thriving Communities Fund – will also become stronger in the knowledge that their work as advocates for nature won’t go unnoticed, and in fact be amplified by a shared approach to reimagining Hounslow’s green-blue and grey spaces as areas where people and nature can thrive together.

Hounslow Rangers will become the blueprint for Ranger onboarding, providing a fertile testing ground for a new, interactive induction journey that both new and existing Rangers will be invited to join. This will be no ordinary classroom; Rangers will be ideating, experiencing, and connecting with nature and biodiversity using all their five senses.
