Introducing our new Community Director

We’re delighted to welcome Becky Daniels to our growing London National Park City team as our first ever Community Director.

Becky brings significant experience in community and movement building in the nonprofit sector, with an emphasis on areas including youth involvement, education and justice and equality.

This new senior role is responsible for further developing our deeply participatory approach to what it means to be part of the London National Park City community and movement. At its core that will involve the stewardship of our Ranger programme, supporting our community of 130 active volunteer Rangers, along with recruiting and managing local Ranger Coordinators in a number of London Boroughs as funding is secured.

Becky said:

I’m excited to be playing a pivotal role in the current and future scope of the Ranger programme. I’m most looking forward to visiting Ranger projects in person, and I can’t wait to spend intentional time outside building our community and supporting people to make London greener, healthier and wilder.

Becky’s appointment comes amid the launch of our urgent autumn 2024 crowdfunder, which seeks to support our vision of having a Ranger presence in each of the 704 wards and 33 council areas of the capital.

London National Park City Executive Director Mark Cridge added:

Rangers are at the heart of everything we do at London National Park City, and Becky’s appointment means we can solidify and strengthen their ability to be champions for urban nature in London.

You’ll hear more from Becky in 2025, and in the meantime can connect with her over on our online community platform. The team is looking forward to getting to know Becky over a vegan meal and a spot of karaoke at our forthcoming Christmas party!

P.S. We are currently looking for a diligent and organised Programme Manager to join our small staff team. They will help us deliver and manage our small grants programme in support of Ranger-led projects within neighbourhoods across London, working closely with Becky. You’ll find full application details here.
