how to get involVed

This May, we’re aiming to walk one million miles together. You can contribute in a few ways; take part in one of our 200+ organised walks, lead your own event or join the Walk 100 Miles in May personal challenge on Go Jauntly. Every mile, however you walk it, counts towards the total.

Join a guided walk

Sign up to a walk near you led by Rangers, community groups, and local volunteers across all 33 London boroughs.

Two people walk along a leafy, rain-soaked pathway surrounded by dense green foliage. They are walking away from the photo and we see their backs. Both wear yellow waterproof jackets and carry backpacks. The path is lined with a red brick wall on the right and a black lamppost with a blue cycle path sign on the left.

Create your own walk

Plan your route, submit your event, and invite others to join you along the way. Set up a fundraiser to make it count for even more.

Six people are jumping in the air with their arms raised, looking at the camera. They are outdoors, in front of a dense, tall conifer hedge. Each person is dressed as either a fruit or a vegetable.

help raise funds

Every step you take this May can fund grassroots projects across London. Donate to the festival or set up your own fundraiser.

Please donate to our crowdfunder to support more community projects

Download the GoJauntly app, join the Walk a Million in May challenge, and track your miles as part of our city-wide goal.

You don’t have to go far – walk to the shops, get off the bus one stop early, take the long way home. It all counts.

We’ve put together a simple guide to getting started here.

Your support funds more Ranger projects

Every step can help fund incredible projects across the city. This May, make your walk count for more.

Greener — bringing more nature into everyday life across London as part of a collective effort that benefits everyone.

Healthier — supporting the wellbeing of people and the city by making it easier to be active, outdoors, and connected to nature.

Wilder — creating space for nature to flourish more freely, in ways that are shared, accessible, and shaped by local communities.

Your donations help fund projects like these — led by Rangers and community groups making a real difference across London

accessibility to nature

This project delivered a nature and arts day at Chiswick House and Gardens for people with wheelchair and accessibility needs.

BLACK GROWTH CIC

A Black British-led grassroots organisation running a community market garden in Croydon promoting food justice.

ROOTING FOR TOOTING

A hands-on workshop celebrating and teaching communities how to grow South Asian vegetables.

A different kind of city

In 2019, London became the world’s first National Park City – the result of a grassroots campaign that started with a simple question: what if we imagined our city as a National Park?

That same year, hundreds of Londoners, the Mayor of London and over 300 organisations signed the Charter – a shared commitment to grow a greener, wilder, and healthier city. Today, the movement focuses on local action across all 33 boroughs, supporting volunteer projects that bring neighbourhoods and nature closer together.
