In February 2025, the Friends Group, in partnership with The Orchard Project and local schools, celebrated the newly planted Blythe Hill Fields Orchard with a traditional Wassail—bringing the community together through music, storytelling, Morris dancing, and the ceremonial toasting of the trees to bless them for a fruitful future.

With support from our funding, the event provided essential supplies, attracted 10 volunteers, and welcomed over 100 visitors. More than just a celebration, the Wassail has laid the foundation for an annual community event, strengthening community connection and fostering long-term care and engagement with the orchard.
