Created in 2010, in partnership with charity Brockley Cross Action Group (BCAG) – who continue to manage the garden to this day -, Lewisham Council and Network Rail, Brockley Station Community Herb Garden is comprised of flower beds, a woodland area and a herb garden, as well as seating and chill out areas in amongst nature.
In 2023, our funding supported the creation of a Kitchen Garden – a raised area to plant herbs, built in two separate heights one for disabled wheelchair access and one for general access. Compost, dozens of plants and waterproofing membrane and lining were purchased from local suppliers to take the Garden from concept to reality, while a community sign was created to signpost visitors to it. In all, 50 volunteers from the community were involved during the creation of the Garden.
