This project set out to reimagine the map (cartograph) of Camden, through it’s green spaces. Camden is a borough known and celebrated for it’s vibrant parks, namely Hampstead Heath and Regent’s Park.

Recognising the disconnect between some residents and tenants living on Camden estates, especially young people, we organised nature-based art workshops designed to engage and connect with each other and the wonder of the outdoors. During these workshops, we recorded sounds, collected plant materials and created images from local parks and green areas, in order to make eco-soundscapes and art materials such as natural dyes and interactive zines.

The young people who took part in the project really led and changed the course of our outdoor learning – steering our gaze to how they have systematically been denied access to green activities and how doing so allows them to deeply reconnect with their rooted heritage. Engaging 30 people through in person and online activities.
