Led by Urban Forest Tribe CIC and hosted in the London Borough of Newham, this year’s Earth Day event brought together five key partners and organisations from across London, the event was made possible with the generous support of The Stratford Hotel, The Lighthouse and Gardens, London National Park City Rangers, and a wider network of friends and volunteers.

Over 110 people attended, representing more than eight London boroughs and a wonderfully diverse mix of ages, abilities, and needs. Everything on the day was free, thanks to the generosity and commitment of all involved.

Facilitators led fun, hands-on workshops celebrating the importance of our planet—attendees took part in seed games, made Earth Day cards and survival bracelets, experimented with natural dyes on calico, and planted seeds to take home and more. We were also very lucky to have the brilliant Tobago Crusoe close the event with a joyful song about caring for the Earth, bringing everyone together.

The Lighthouse and Gardens is a vital community space and garden in the heart of Stratford, bringing nature and calm to an otherwise urban, concrete landscape and improving the lives of local people.

Building on last year’s success, the event deepened connection between partners and the community. Also proudly promoting organisations with nature at their heart—encouraging continued care and action for our shared home: planet Earth.
