The grant provided funding for Ranger Michael Holland to run a series of nature-based workshops at Highams Park, including the popular Winter Wildlife Wonders. Michael Holland FLS, an expert freelance nature educator and author, designs programmes to educate and inspire people from all walks of life about the fascinating world of plants and the vital role they play in our daily lives.

The workshops offered families and local residents the chance to get hands-on and creative while learning about wildlife and seasonal ecology. Participants made bird-friendly mini wreaths using natural materials such as berries, wool, and seeds, giving local wildlife a festive boost.

The sessions were free, family-friendly, and brought the community together to explore, craft, and grow their understanding of the natural world. Activities like Michael’s Peck ’n’ Mix creations made the park a lively and educational space for all ages.
