Harrow Weald Park is a Harrow council owned sheltered housing scheme of 31 flats with a scheme coordinator assigned to the site. The site is part of a conservation area, although the grounds of the sheltered housing scheme have basic management from the council teams.

One resident, Mr Terence Mackin has developed a 140m long “border” along the driveway/service road access to the property, with a large grass area with mini orchard and planting at the end of the road. He has recycled park benches that were being discarded, repaired and treated them to provide seating for residents to rest. He has named this new area the Garden of Contemplation. I will support with sourcing green waste compost, a large sign for the garden (includes the LNPC logo) and spring bulbs from the local supplier.

I have provided support with materials such as mulch, compost and seeds. The resident needed some tools and equipment to control the large laurel trees, ivy and holly and other invasive plants, opening up spaces for planting. I have also provided bulbs including native bluebells.
