In Heston, three small plots of de-paved pavement have been transformed into vibrant pocket gardens by the Heston Action Group.

With the help of volunteers, fellow London National Park City Rangers, and local residents, a variety of pollinator-friendly plants have been planted to brighten the streets and create habitats for pollinators and birds. Heston Primary schoolchildren and teachers have already helped plant spring bulbs and winter flowers, and the project hopes to involve two more schools in caring for the other plots, building connections between the community, nature, and young people.
