Now a thriving volunteer-led community garden in South Norwood, Love Lane started life as a clean-up initiative in November 2015.

Open to all for both recreation and nature conservation, it has fast become a beacon for what can be achieved on carefully managed parcels of open land using recycled materials (fly-tipped tyres, chairs, wood and more have all been lovingly repurposed in the garden). Our funding supported a volunteer project to create a wildflower meadow and native hedgerow to enhance biodiversity.

In practice this helped to purchase: a lawn mower and scarification rakes, hedgerow plants and yellow rattle seeds for grass suppression.
