Stories By Moonlight is a campaign promoting the importance of outdoor family time and Nature connection. Through the campaign we are calling on families to head outside to enjoy outdoor and Nature-filled bedtime stories together.

From small balconies to gardens, urban parks to village greens the campaign seeks to strengthen connections with Nature, one another, and the ecosystems we rely on. The campaign has been a labour of love, one that has developed slowly, albeit with a lot of time investment and almost no funding.

I have delivered multiple outdoor Stories By Moonlight community events and gatherings in parks in Brent and Haringey since 2019, and have created six Stories By Moonlight challenges with corresponding illustrations, a physical outdoor campaign pack to support outdoor story experiences and a new campaign website/page to promote the campaign. It has been a slow burn BUT Stories By Moonlight now feels ready to scale! Are trying different approaches the new campaign strategy will focus on targeting schools to sign up to the campaign, and to get SBM packs into classrooms and from there into children’s homelife, with children taking the packs home for a week on rotation to take part in the campaign.

From February I will begin promoting the campaign online to schools, teachers, parents, librarians/libraries and outdoor practitioners. I aim to create a support network across the UK who can help promote the campaign within their local school, network, community or area. And its to support this new model for scaling the campaign that I seek this funding.
