The day’s aim was to connect the local community with nature and the site’s heritage.

We had a wonderful event featuring historical reenactments, with characters from Chingford’s past taking part in an interactive history trail.
There was storytelling based on the Brambly Hedge children’s books, alongside pond-dipping activities, wood-whittling demonstrations, and other nature-based arts and crafts.

We also celebrated 10 years of the Friends Group and will be planting a wild service tree in November as part of a volunteer thank-you event.
