Shroom Sunday is an annual celebration of all things mushroom-inspired, curated by the London Fungus Network – an organisation whose mission it is to connect nature lovers with the urban Fungal Kingdom.

In 2022 our funding award supported the organisers of this unique event to expand their programme of education, providing more hands-on learning opportunities for individuals and community groups with the aim of increasing awareness and engagement with local plantlife and wildlife.

In practice this covered: fungus forays for 50-60 people, home-mushroom cultivation workshops for 25 people and the engagement of a Forest School Leader to deliver workshops for 50-60 children and adults. The day-long event took place at Pimp Hall Park and Nature Reserve in Chingford, Essex.
