A £300 grant has strengthened the community gardening activities at Stonegrove Community Centre, bringing together residents of all ages and backgrounds.

The funding supported special sessions, including a planting day, allotment clear-up, and a preserving workshop, engaging 30 participants and fostering practical skills, friendships, and a shared sense of responsibility. Enhancements to raised beds, fruit bushes, and green spaces have ensured the garden remains an inclusive and thriving community hub.

Gardening Club is a great place for anyone interested in learning new skills, sharing tips and meeting fellow local garden enthusiasts. We have planted herb and flowers along the Lacey Drive growing space and created new raised beds near our car park which we maintain. We have also worked on other green spaces around our centre, in the community allotment and around the Stonegrove Estate.

Over the colder months when our green spaces need less attention, we move indoors and have some Nature based art activities, these include making lavender bags and seed bombs.
