Canbury Gardens
Covering 14.5 acres in Kingston Upon Thames (KT2 5AW), Canbury Gardens has a rich history. Once used for grazing and turf cutting, it later became a gravel extraction site. By 1887, the area was considered an eyesore, prompting plans for a park to enhance the riverside view.
Heath Hands
Heath Hands delivers a wide-ranging programme of conservation, community, learning and wellbeing projects on Hampstead Heath, Highgate Wood and the Kenwood Estate. We help look after 350 hectares of amazing green space in North London, and since we were founded by members of the local community in 1999 we’ve worked in partnership with the City of London Corporation and English Heritage.

Redbridge has a wealth of open spaces, from local parks to country parks. All types of green spaces are important for wildlife and can contain a variety of habitats including woodland, hedgerows, grassland, streams, lakes and ponds. Nature conservation ensures that these areas are protected, preserved and carefully managed.
This helps to not only protect the ecology of the Borough but also gives local residents beautiful green areas which they can enjoy.
Tower Habitats
A group of dedicated individuals, organisations, businesses and Tower Hamlets Council have come together to form Tower Habitats – the Biodiversity Partnership for the Borough of Tower Hamlets. The aim of the Partnership is to conserve and enhance the borough’s wildlife and natural places for today’s residents and future generations to benefit from and enjoy.

We carry out practical maintenance and habitat management work throughout the year. These tasks include hedgelaying, coppicing, scrub clearance and fence construction. During the spring and summer, we also carry out ecological surveys and monitoring, recording plants and animals to help inform our management.
