The concept of the accessible community garden is to transform a currently unused allotment plot into an inclusive communal garden with 11 raised planting beds with communal greenhouse, compost, and storage area, water tank and drinking water point.

There will also be a covered pergola with picnic benches to encourage all the raised bed holders to sit, converse, share ideas and produce. This place will also provide opportunities for bed holders to engage with others, supporting wellbeing and helping to encourage better mental health.

The pergola will also have guttering and a water butt for water harvesting and will encourage water conservation.

The area will have an accessible path all around the beds which is level and step free to enable people who are less mobile or use a wheelchair to be involved. All other parts of community garden will also be accessible.
