Sutton Nature Conservation Volunteers

Sutton Nature Conservation Volunteers (SNCV) is the main nature conservation organisation, solely operating in the London Borough of Sutton. We have been working on Sutton’s many wildlife sites since 1987.

We carry out practical maintenance and habitat management work throughout the year. These tasks include hedgelaying, coppicing, scrub clearance and fence construction. During the spring and summer, we also carry out ecological surveys and monitoring, recording plants and animals to help inform our management.

Ways That You Can Volunteer

The activities you’ll take part in are incredibly varied and change according to seasonal cycles. You’ll have the opportunity to learn new skills, discover nature on your doorstep in a whole new way, and make a real difference to the wild plants and animals of Sutton.
Some of the activities that SNCV volunteers undertake:

– Bramble bashing
– Coppicing
– Hedgelaying
– Scrub clearance
– Fence construction
– Planting and plant care
– Assisting with education and holiday activities
– Botanical surveys to monitor the progress of the work already undertaken.
– AND MUCH MORE. EVERY VOLUNTEERING DAY IS DIFFERENT.
