This May, The Proper Blokes Club is inviting men across London to get outside, walk together, and be part of something bigger.
As part of the London Walking Festival, their free weekly walk-and-talk groups offer a simple but powerful idea. Walk side by side, talk if you want to, listen if you need to, and know you do not have to do life on your own.
That spirit makes The Proper Blokes Club a brilliant fit for the festival. The London Walking Festival is all about helping people walk more, connect with nature, and discover the city at a slower, more human pace. It is about healthier lives, stronger communities, and finding joy, support and solidarity in everyday streets, parks and paths.
For many men, walking can make talking easier. There is less pressure, less formality, and more room to be honest. The Proper Blokes Club has built a growing community around that idea, creating regular local walks where men can show up exactly as they are. No big speeches. No pressure to explain everything. Just fresh air, shared steps, and the chance to feel part of something.
This May, those local walks are also feeding into a city-wide challenge. As Londoners take on the goal of walking one million miles in May, The Proper Blokes Club is aiming to contribute 40,00 miles over 88 walks this May to the total. It is a great example of how small acts, repeated week after week, can add up to something huge. One walk can lift your mood. Thousands of walks can help change the feel of a city.
