Wheels and Skates
A group of wheelchair users and skaters who meet on Saturdays in Battersea Park to enjoy the sensory rush of speed.

More infomation
Wheels and Wheelchairs are a group of wheelchair users and skaters who come together to enjoy the sensory rush of speed and the joy of accessible sport. Skaters push wheelchair users as part of this inclusive initiative, making the sport accessible and sociable. They meet every Saturday in Battersea Park, London, alongside the Easy Saturday Skate group, completing three laps (around five miles), with wheelchair users setting the pace – perfect for beginners.
For those seeking more of a challenge, the group participates in faster-paced Street Strolls starting from Hyde Park, covering ten-mile routes through iconic London landmarks. These are organised by the London Friday Night Skate & Sunday Stroll. Members also take part in adventurous events such as roller marathons across Europe and route-tested trips like Bath to Bristol.
Those interested in joining – whether wheelchair users, carers, or experienced skaters willing to push –can contact the group via the Wheels and Wheelchairs Facebook page. Saturday meetups begin at 10am in the North West car park of Battersea Park (near the children’s zoo), with the skate starting at 10.30am from the Pagoda. All abilities are welcome, and 24 hours’ notice is appreciated for planning equipment.
