Introducing our new Programme Manager

The London National Park City team is aiming high in 2025, and creating a dynamic staff team to match. Quarter one will see a flurry of new hires and a host of new initiatives in support of our Rangers and local nature recovery work.

And this month we’re really excited to welcome Rochelle Shanthakumar as our first ever Programme Manager.

Rochelle brings more than a decade of experience spanning project management, creative campaign management and digital marketing centred around her commitment to collaborating with global partners on social and cultural projects.

In this new role, Rochelle will be responsible for stewarding our expanded small grants programme over the next 18 months which will directly fund a variety of projects led by or directly involving our volunteer Rangers. She will work closely alongside newly appointed Community Director Becky Daniels.

Rochelle said:

I’m most excited about changing the narrative around London, through building stronger communities and deeper connections to each other and to nature, with the ultimate goal of making the city a better place to live.

London National Park City Executive Director Mark Cridge added:

Rochelle’s role is key to the success of our Ranger programme, which supports our Rangers in co-creating greener, wilder, healthier communities across the whole of London. We’re looking forward to seeing how her newly introduced systems help to support diversity and streamline delivery of the programme in the months to come.

You’ll hear more from Rochelle as the year progresses, and in the meantime you’re likely to see her busily working away on her laptop with a hot drink in hand at our Mortimer Street Visitor Centre. Do stop by if you get the chance!
